Room 211, Friday afternoon

So. Priestly had a date with Claudia this evening. An actual date. With kissing. And no extra people.

He wasn't freaking out. The way he was throwing all his clothes on his bed and wailing about not having anything to wear and comparing the various benefits of his blue "free sample" t-shirt with his yellow "lesbian" t-shirt and his hair was sticking up with far less direction than usual had absolutely nothing to do with freaking out.

Okay, so the flopping down on the floor with a shell-shocked look, surrounded by t-shirts, hair dye, and CDs for making her mix tape might have had something to do with freaking out. But only a little.

[ooc: Door and post are open, yo]

Claire was randomly on the second floor (as you are) when she happened to glance through Priestly's open door and leaned in.

"Dude, did your closet explode?"

Claire thought about that.

Nope, it didn't make sense.

"Huh?" she asked, still hovering in the door. "What are you trying to get dressed for?"

"Yeah, she's in art club and we've talked a little," Claire nodded. "She's sweet."

And dressed like she escaped from an insane asylum, but Claire didn't hold that against her too much.

"Oh," Claire said, then, more sharply as she considered and came to appreciate the problem, "Oh! And you, uh, you really like her, huh?"

It was a guess, but she couldn't imagine a guy worrying too much about his clothes if he didn't.

"Well, not doomed," Claire said. "I mean, she agreed to go out with you, right? Just look like you normally look, except, y'know, more." There was a vague gesture to accompany the vagueness of "more."

She stepped a little into the room. "What are your choices?"

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Like, y'know ..." No, Claire couldn't explain it. "Like you tried but not like you tried."

Because that was much more helpful. She looked at the shirts anyhow. "Orgasm donor one's kinda a lot for a date," she decided. "I like the lesbian one."

"It's --" Claire was trying to decide. "I like it, it would make me smile but I don't know if it's a date thing. What are you guys doing?"

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"But, it's Claudia," Claire pointed out, because Claudia struck her as the theme type. "Wear that. Maybe with a long-sleeved shirt under it 'cause it's February."

"Do your hair red," Claire suggested. "I don't know about the kilt. Kilt over jeans is kinda ...." she made a face. "But it's so a you thing. Does she like it?"

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Claire giggled. "Oh, god, that's what not to wear. A button-down shirt, your hair combed down, and fucking khakis."

Mix tapes were serious business, and Claire's attention shifted to that.

"Oh, man, I made one for Cal for Christmas," Claire mentioned, raising her eyebrows. "It was hard 'cause he's from '76 so he knew, like, nothing, and I didn't want anything that's all, hi, I wanna jump your bones or hi, I wanna marry you and have 15 kids, and that's like half the songs I could think of."

[identity profile] swipedthatfoot.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's awesome." Claire was impressed. "Mine was like ... Nirvana, Weezer, Sleater-Kinney, Joni Mitchell. But I'm from '02, so it kinda sucked for the last five years."

"And it feels weird to get caught up when I know I'm going home in a couple months," Claire added. "Like, music spoilers."
