"I am!" Dinah sounded as pleased with herself as when she was five, and thought she'd gotten away with something. "And ahahah that's awesome. Yay for drunk texts. Might lead to more drunk make-outs. Or sober make-outs."
"Yeah, I liked her when we met in the dungeon." Dinah grinned, the tilted-ness of the conversation striking her. "Dude. It's like we're bros, talking about girls. Or guys. Whatever. Bro-mance!"
"You're not a bro, though," Priestly pointed out. "I mean, not unless you wanna be." Far be for him to try to impose gender roles on someone. "We're just, you know, bffs."
"I know. But not just. Definitely BFFs." And sometimes there was a tiny zing more there, off and on, and sometimes she forgot there was zing... until it snuck up on her again. "But! The next time Momoko or Karla start in on me? I'm telling them this. Just to watch them splutter."
"Hmm. Not unless I was a supervillain in another reality. No, she'd still come and try to stop me." Dinah considered that with a smirk. "Unless Helena went evil first? No, then Barbara would stop us. This just doesn't end well for Supervillain me, does it."
"Enh. Work work work." Dinah grinned. "You remember that the next time I'm making you run. I'm trying to fight my supervillain inclinations." Yeah, 'cause that made sense.
"Damnit. I am so going to need another bribe in there... or guilt. Maybe guilt will keep her running before the cakes can be eaten. I've been helping her do stuff in Texas, she owes me."
Well, in that way they owed each other lots and Dinah hadn't looked on it as a favor, but hey, retroactive guilt! o make them run! Keep them healthy!
Dinah blew a raspberry at him, grinning over the phone. "You say evil, I say... benign dictating. Yes." She nodded hard. "And we're gonna do this soonish. Especially since pretty soon we'll be parading through Glacia, trying to drum up public support after that. So. Keep your running shoes ready."
That pout wouldn't work if Priestly couldn't see it, Dinah.
But she couldn't help doing it anyway.
"Pleeeease. Because I want you to be in great shape to run away from Fandom craziness this summer, while I'm here in Glacia and can't watch your back and your front? Pleeease be ready to run?"
"Yaaaay. Thank you, Priestly." 'Cause she might be poking and prodding and nudging him for his own good, but bullying would be uncool. And 'cause he thought she was cute, sure. "I'll see you soon. Love you."
