"Uh huh." His wrist was throbbing again. "I'll try an' clean the ear up before you get here." Try. After all, it'd take some effort to go anywhere near that thing.

The kitchen guys were currently trying to rig up some sort of distance grabber thing out of a pair of salad tongs and two brooms.
