1/4/12 02:39 (UTC)Priestly rubbed his nose, then leaned out the door. "Trucker, my teenage daughter from the future in on the line and trying her best to give me an aneurysm. Mind if I clock out early?"
Piper, thinking he was kidding, snorted to herself. "Well. At least your excuses are creative."
Trucker's look said he wasn't entirely sure any more. "Uh, sure, Priestly. Just let us know how it goes in the morning."
Priestly nodded and ducked back into the back room. "Okay. I no longer have to handle sharp or hot things for the rest of the night, and I can walk home from here, so you're good to break my brain as much as you need to, now."

So telling him what happened in hers was okay, Lena justified to herself.
"You co-own the expanded Beach City Grill. And you have the best popcorn shrimp and fruity drinks this side of L.A.," Lena said proudly. "We even get tourists! Who just come for the food!"

"Something about how it's her turn next? You guys never explain that."

1/4/12 04:26 (UTC)Piper, who'd been coming back for more onions, paused and stared.
"You have a what?"
"Piper, I told you I was talking to my teenage daughter from the future, right?"
Piper blinked, then turned and walked back out. "The sign did say they didn't want normal. . . ."

1/4/12 04:32 (UTC)No, she really didn't. Lena was abusing the sarcasm that Barbara abused.
"Yes, you do. It's not normal, but it's sweet." Lena made a face. "And overly. Mom spends a lot more time in Santa Cruz these days, since she can commute to... um. The training facility." No giving away *real* secrets. "Just as easily as from New Gotham. What are you doing this weekend, aside from weirding out Aunt Piper?"
