Priestly had spent ages preparing his outfit. Though he'd performed as "Sentience Freenik" a few times already, the Metronome's open mic drag night was kiiiind of a big deal in the drag community, and he was looking at it as Sentience's "coming out", as it were.

He certainly got plenty of double takes and strange looks as he, Dinah, Mark, and Tia walked to the club. Really, it was like they'd never seen a grown, bearded man wearing a bright yellow lacy dress before.

"Man," Mark said. "You look like you took a bath in blended canary."

Priestly stared at him. "That might be the most horrifying thing you've ever said to me."

"That can't possibly be true."

Tia smacked Mark upside the head. "I'm totally stealing that dress from you later," she said.

Priestly grinned. "Awww, thanks!"

"Oh, darling, they do have you on the good drugs, don't they?" Karla laughed. Her scan turned up nothing untoward, so she grudgingly admitted that the hospital wasn't staffed by complete incompetents and started to work on taking away his pain instead.

His head first; that headache was probably fierce. And then the leg, which looked to be the worst of the lot.

"Want to explain to me the dress?"

"It was so pretty!" Why yes, 'explain' had just become 'describe' in Priestly's head. He smiled dopily up at Karla. "All bright sunny yellow and lacy with flowy sleeves."

It was a kind of explaining, so...what the heck, she would go with it. "Not all bright colors with chunky safety pins and decorative slashes through it? I'm surprised!"

She'd kind of have to, with a name like "Sentience Freenik".

"Of course," Karla said, nodding like this was something she encountered every day. Oddly enough, Kaeleer didn't have much of a drag crowd. Probably do to all the gender essentialism ingrained into their society. "Tell me about her, since I don't think I've met her yet."
